Our Occupational Therapists (OT) provide therapy for fine motor muscles, such as your fingers. Patients recovering from stroke or injury, or living with a debilitating disease such as arthritis, might need occupational therapy to regain activities of daily living, such as bathing or tying shoes. Our Rehab Gym includes a mini- apartment setup for retraining in activities of daily living such as tub transfers.
Baypointe has four OT professionals - two OTs and two Certified OT Assistants - on staff so you'll always see a familiar face. Caring and understanding of the challenges patients face, they will work with you daily or as needed and can design and prescribe assistive devices to improve the quality of daily living for patients with arthritis and other conditions of the muscles and joints.
Upon discharge, Case Manager Sheri Bourne will lead an interdisciplinary team in developing a plan of care in conjunction with care available in the community, such as visiting nurses.
