Respite care is short term care that gives primary caregivers a break from demands of constant care. Those who care for others who are chronically ill, memory impaired, suffer a terminal illness or disabling injury can arrange in advance to have us take care of their loved one for a period of time from two weeks to two months depending on the family's needs, so they can catch up on household duties or go on vacation. As with all our patients, respite care patients receive a full medical assessment when they join us so that we can provide appropriate care. The type of respite care provided depends on the needs of the individual.
